Acts 17:15, 22-18:1; Jn 16:12-15
In continuation of yesterday, today’s Gospel highlights the mission of the Holy Spirit to the disciples.
The descent of the Holy Spirit is to guide all the disciples to grasp the truth of Christ.
What are those truths?
The truths regarding Jesus include Jesus’ Ascension and Descension, his presence with the Church after the Pentecost, the Parousia, and the gift of his precious Body and Blood to the Church.
Though we understand these Truths to a certain degree, we are incapable of comprehending their fulness on our own.
This is where the Holy Spirit’s continuous revelation becomes crucial.
The revelations of the Holy Spirit offer glory to Jesus as they inspire us to a complete understanding of him.
Unfortunately, the Holy Spirit often remains a forgotten personality.
The Spirit of Truth shapes our faith in Jesus.
This requires that we surrender ourselves to the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
