Gen 1:1-19; Mk 6:53-56
Today’s Gospel highlights the image of Jesus the healer.
People’s recognition of Jesus is so amazing that they run throughout the whole region to bring the sick on mats to ‘wherever they heard he was.’
The aura of goodness that people experienced in Jesus’ presence was so compelling that they wanted to be and wished to bring others to wherever they heard he was.
The healing power of Jesus coupled with his natural goodness, love, and compassion made it irresistible for people to come around Jesus and stay in his presence. This is the reason that nothing prevented them from coming to Jesus or leaving his presence.
Jesus, the replica of goodness, is our worthy model for emulation and imitation.
Let us pray that we may possess the radiance of goodness that makes the lives of people whole.
